Edwards and Kelcey is a leader in the design-build industry, providing engineering and construction services for clients nationwide. EK currently has a portfolio of successful design-build projects in excess of $650M, including the high-profile Hiawatha Light Rail Transit System for the Minnesota Department of Transportation. As a joint venture partner, EK's responsibilities included the structural design of bridges, cut and cover tunnels, retaining walls, traction power and overhead catenary systems, and overall system design quality assurance.

Other key transit related design build projects include Metro-North Railroad's Highbridge Yard & Car Appearance Facility as well as the Arch Street Yard & Maintenance Facility and the Babylon Traction Power Substation projects for the Long Island Rail Road . EK participated on all three of these projects as a joint venture partner with the contractors.   Edwards and Kelcey as the sponsor of the joint venture was responsible for the design and construction of New Jersey Transit's Rail Operation Center Communications Link, a SONET/ATM network, that provides a seamless and robust communications system to support NJ Transit's critical railroad operations.

Often as a significant equity partner of the design-build team, EK steps up to the risk associated with design-build projects, focusing on these advantages and opportunities:

SINGLE-POINT RESPONSIBILITY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

TEAM INGENUITY

PUBLIC/PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS

ELIMINATION OF CONTRACTOR/ENGINEER INTERFACE ISSUES
